Winter 2004
The site where the church is located is part of a recreation area. Christianity is a big part of most Georgians lives, but the heads of the church do not recognize modern architectural language in church design. In this design proposal I decided to import modern architectural language into the Georgian church architecture. The church shares the same canonical, spatial, and zoning requirements with the traditional Orthodox Church, but differs in the geometrical qualities, spatial layout, and the material used.
In the interior there are murals of Orthodox saints painted on the curtains so the incoming light could go through and defuse into the interior.
All drawings are hand-drafted.
